Day 59 (part one of what will surely be many)

I'm currently sitting in the rooftop cafe at Saddleback Church, and of all the churches I've visited so far this summer, this environment wins my "most soothing" award.  I almost feel like I'm on vacation.  A gentle breeze is blowing through the palm trees, I can hear the distance rustling of one of the church's many waterfall-fountains, and it's probably down to the upper 70s here in the shade.  Since I'm the only one here at 2 in the afternoon, I've shed my usual dress shirt and am down to a t-shirt, jeans, and bare feet.  You know, Southern California isn't exactly my element, but it is very pretty and quite peaceful.  This may turn out to be just the relax/recharge I need after San Francisco.  In fact, I feel like all I need right now is one of those drinks that comes with its own umbrella.  This evening's services are at 4:30 and 6:30, and with the big TV screens all over the campus, I'm sort of thinking about watching one of them from right here in the cafe-- haven't tried that before.  Could make for an interesting experience, and I'd probably be able to take notes directly on my laptop rather than in the little blue notebook.  (On a side note, the little blue notebook is now full, so I've retired it in favor of the little teal notebook, but I'm still going to say little blue notebook just because I feel like it has more of a ring to it.)  Alright, time to get to work . . .

Peace and Blessings,
Tom
