Song of the Day: "Money" (I Fight Dragons)
Book of the Day:
Reposition Yourself: Living Life without Limits (T.D. Jakes)
I'm in Kingman, AZ, holed up in a Days Inn and working on the Saddleback and Mosaic write-ups still. There's still a lot of ground to cover, so it's going to be at least another day. In the meantime, I listened to about 3/4 of T.D. Jakes's Reposition Yourself on the drive here, and I have pretty mixed feelings about it. I realize that it's pretty much a motivational book and not so much intended to be a deep theological treatise, but I still regard with skepticism anyone who cites "God helps those who help themselves" as a legitimate piece of wisdom. T.D. discourages notions of prosperity and reminds us to be careful about how we define success, but he's still talking an awful lot of self-help and very little about God. I'm going to finish the book when I hit the road again, but it's a bit of a slog-- lots of talk about the power within you and all that junk.
Okay, back to Saddleback/Mosaic . . .
Peace and Blessings,
Tom
